The project: These fabulous clients initially hired us to update parts of their home, which eventually evolved into including most areas of their residence such as the kitchen, main floor living area, the master bedroom and ensuite bathroom, the guest room and the basement.

We were honoured to work with all the original character of reclaimed fir wood millwork which was originally salvaged from Prairie Grain Elevators. This included the floors, a staircase, windows & door trim. The fireplace area/wall had outdated cultured fieldstone that was removed and replaced with new stone that included limestone lintel and mantel details. This home was initially built 20 years prior and had some undeniable character so being able to modernize it while keeping much of its charm was a must.

The outcome: our clients were ecstatic with the outcome and incredibly pleased with the way we were able to update the entire home without removing its original character.

A Retiree's Dream Home

Renovation
Red Deer

The project: This wonderful client trusted us with designing her dream home after relocating from Vancouver Island to Red Deer to live in the environment she once grew up in so she could be closer to her family.

Our client's goal was to purchase a 'fixer upper' to turn into her very own oasis.

We quickly realized that this wouldn't be an easy job but we were up for the challenge so we removed unnecessary walls to open up the space, designed and built a true cook's kitchen -along with secret doors to a back entrance. We included additional storage space, a truly amazing fireplace feature wall, a principal bedroom just as she dreamed it, and of course - the perfect ensuite bathroom. We opted for a classic and timeless design so we could turn this 1800sqft gem into a true modernized home and gave it a whole new character.

The outcome: Our client was truly happy with the results and told us "I now just walk around my newly renovated home and smile".

Sylvan Lake

The project: It was our second time working with this fabulous client. His wishes were to build an addition to the home that included a larger deck, a pergola with dining area, a functional living area along with an 'exterior' kitchen that could be used during all seasons. The key was for the new addition to truly look like it was a part of the rest of the home.

In the process, the existing kitchen was completely renovated so that the interior kitchen and new outdoor kitchen flowed seamlessly.

The design included large glass windows, two sets of quad folding doors, and vaulted timber interior that enhanced the stunning view of the lake -- All while maintaining the warm rustic/log mountain feel.

The outcome: We were able to achieve exactly what our client wanted by creating an additional outdoor space that worked perfectly with the rest of the home that was already there. It was important to our client that the space was large enough to welcome and gather his family and 33 grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The project: To our client, it was important to create a beautiful and functional space to gather family. He desired a mountain-lodge rustic style guesthouse to complement the main log house and host their 27 grandchildren and great grandchildren for family gatherings. We incorporated his love and passion for the mountains by adding a lot of wood and a rustic aesthetic to achieve this warm 'cabin' like feel. Keeping in mind gatherings, we designed a space that could host a lot of love.

The outcome: Where there is a will, there is a way and for us - there were definitely both as we were able to complete the home on a tight turn around, just in time for a big family wedding.

The project: We started this project while a renovation was already in progress. This fabulous client needed our expertise and guidance to fulfill their vision to create a comfortable space of healing that could be comfortable, peaceful, and become a true retreat from the rest of the home. We were given a tight deadline to bring this space to the finish line and knew that this would be challenging - but also knew that we could do it.

The outcome: After working really hard to ensure that we met our client's deadline, we are happy to say that not only we delivered the project on time, but our clients were thrilled with the result of this livingroom and were confident that they would be enjoying this space for the years to come.

A warm, healing and inviting home; this space draws on wood and stone to tie together a cozy, comfortable yet graceful experience. We were able to work with local artists to create bespoke artwork for the home. During the home tour, we had people say it really felt like a healing space. Hearing that we had nailed the mandate for the home felt incredible!
